“Look Good, Feel Good,” The Self-Care Blog

Ok so we’ve all heard the saying “look good, feel good”. For me this goes way deeper than vanity and is truly defined as self-care. There are a few things I do regularly in the realm of beauty and wellness (aside from my workouts) that I constantly get asked over and over to share the person and/or business I use. So here it is, no big heartfelt blog just a list of the amazing services I use to help keep this busy mama looking and feeling her best.

I am sharing their Instagram links here so please reach out for pricing information and set up appointments with these all-stars, each of them play an important role in my self care!

1.) My beautiful spray tans are courtesy of Luminous Tans. The owner Claudia comes to you and sets up a tent and sprays you in the convenience of your own home. Plus, her skills are like no other, never any lines and the color is a perfect sun kissed glow. I get a spray tan about 2x a month during the winter months.

2.) My famous extra bold lashes are the skillful work of the talented Camille Sindac. She runs her own lashing business in San Bruno CA. Her lash sets range from natural to EXTRA volume so you can pick what works best for you. I get a fill about 2x a month.

3.) Eyebrows can really make and define your face and that is why I trust the oh-so-talented Monica Varela with my microblading. Microblading has been lifechanging for me after over plucking my brows back in high school. I see Monica 1x a year and she touches up my brows!

4.) To keep my skin glowing and youthful I trust my dear friend Coco at Cozi Skincare for my regular facials. Her extraction game is on point and her extra attention to detail and healing energy really make the experience at her spa like no other. I try to get a facial every 3-4 months.

5.) Speaking of youthful, the truth is I am no spring chicken so about 2 years ago I started getting regular Botox for preventive reasons and about a year ago I started adding some lip filler to my top lip (that’s strictly for aesthetic reasons of course). I am so blessed to have found Kelly Meaux at Skin Spirit. I see her about every 4-6 months for touch ups.

6.) Moving on to my hair. I am naturally a brunette with very brassy tones, but I love a good bright blonde color in my hair which can be frustrating trying to find a colorist who gets your vision and needs (all while taking my hair’s health into account too). The amazing Sara Pinckney owns my hair and I trust her with my color and extensions when I have them in (I am currently on a break from extensions at the moment). I see her about every 6 months for color and extensions is about every 8 weeks.

7.) Body work is so very important whether you workout or not. We demand so much from our bodies and put them under so much stress. Taking the time to prioritize massages is something I am still working on but when I do, I trust CJ Blackman for his deep tissue expertise. My goal is to get a massage 1x a month.

8.) Along with massages I have the best chiropractor in SF. Dr. Matt Fuller keeps my body aligned and moving properly. Seeing him about 3x a year (or more if I am injured) really helps keep my body feeling great and allows me to keep up with the strenuous lifting I do.

9.) Now here’s a real personal one, my plastic surgeon. I have only had one procedure done but that one procedure was life changing and so many of you ask about it so I’m always happy to share. The man responsible for my very natural breast augmentation is Dr. Kenneth Bermudez.

10.) Weekly I get a very special self care treat with a blow out at Dry Bar. I specifically go to Brit Paz who’s the leader of education for Dry Bar Northern California and she’s basically my personal stylist but overall blow outs at Dry Bar are such an amazing and relaxing experience and I highly recommend this as a new edition to your self care routine.

11.) Oh, and one more, the best pedicure and manicures in SF (in my opinion) are at New Nail on Chestnut street. They don’t have a website or social media, but those amazing women always brighten my day.

There it is! My go-to businesses for all the things that keep me feeling good, looking good, and help keep me sane in the midst of this crazy life. I hope you each find your own little things for self-care because it is different for everyone, yet it is such an important piece in your wellbeing.

XOXO
