Macro Chili Recipe? Yes Please…
A simple bowl of chili on a cold day,
who could ask for more?
Well well how about a bowl that only has 220g of sodium per 2 cup serving, has macros that will blow your mind... 12C/18P/2F (topped with 1/4 cup fat free mozzarella and you add and extra 9g of protein with no added carbs or fat ) oh and it is absolutely delicious!
The wait is over, here it is folks and it only takes about 1 1/2 hours to make piping hot.
Here’s what you’ll need and how to do it:
Ingredients
(please note that the macros for this recipe are specific to the exact ingredients that I purposely pick based on their macros so the picture below shows exactly which ones I used)
1 package 99% fat free ground turkey
2 cups Pacific Foods unsalted organic chicken stock
3 cups water
1 pack McCormick low sodium chili seasoning
1 can (drained and rinsed) Bush’s organic kidney beans
1 can (with juice) Organics no salt petite diced tomatoes
2 tbsps black pepper
(Please note that in my nutrition program bell peppers, onions and hot peppers are freebies so these are not included in the macros)
1/2 diced green bell pepper
1/2 diced red bell pepper
1/2 white onion
1/2 cup diced jalapeño (optional for extra spice)
Instructions:
Turn crock pot on high and add all ingredients except the ground turkey.
Brown the turkey in a pan.
Add the turkey to the crock pot and let it all simmer for 1 1/2 hours.
Once done this will yield eight 2 cup servings. I’ve been loving it with chopped spinach and fat free mozzarella on top.
Enjoy this yummy winter goodness and if you make it tag on Instagram and me and let me know what toppings you added!
